How John Reese Just Put Five Figures (Or More) Into My Bank Account

    By Michael | July 16, 2008

I’m typing this around 1 a.m. because I just had an “a-hah” moment that I couldn’t wait to share with other copywriters and marketers.

In case you missed it, Tuesday was the big launch day of Traffic Secrets 2 – a product sequel for John Reese. If you aren’t familiar with who John Reese is, you’re probably:

    A) New to online marketing OR

    B) Forgot to check your email today OR

    C) Have been hiding in a cave with a dial-up internet access account for the last 4 years.

Needless to say, Mr. Reese is considered one of the top online marketers in the world. His first home study course, Traffic Secrets pulled 7 figures worth of sales in the 24 hours of its launch.

He’s done a number of things online that have been equally impressive as well including launching Traffic Secrets 2 at a very low price – based on the amount of content in the course. Just do a Google search and you’ll find pages of references to him.

Now, if you’re looking for the affiliate product pitch, then you’re at the wrong site. I’m not an affiliate of any of John’s products so I don’t make a penny writing about it.

If you need an affiliate link for TS2, email me and I’ll randomly pick one from the dozen or so that emailed to me from other marketers and I’ll email that link to you. Otherwise, you can head to http://www.trafficsecrets.com to learn more about the course.

I bought my own copy of the Traffic Secrets 2 course right away so I’m looking forward to it arriving in the mail.

The course covers a lot of material including using offline marketing to drive even more targeted traffic to your website. That content will be a huge help to my info product business. But that’s not the biggest benefit for serious marketers and copywriters.

The part of the course I’m most excited about is the online community. That’s where future updates to the course materials will be added. But that’s not the biggest benefit of the community section either.

    “Okay Mike, what’s your point?”

My point is exactly this. It’s an online community where people will gather to discuss and learn more about generating traffic. And most of them won’t know how to write their own top-quality copy, design their own graphics, or any number of other needed specialty skills.

They will be people who are willing to invest in their business (as shown by investing in traffic generation training with Mr. Reese).

In other words, if you’re a freelancer then that community is a potential goldmine for joint ventures, networking opportunities, and finding new clients for you!

As a copywriter, a single new client could be worth thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars in new sales.  New JV partners or business allies gain could be practically priceless.

Since John added this community to his new course, which I was happy to pick up, I’ve gained access to a potentially great new source of copywriting clients, JV Partners, and new business contacts. And that is worth 5 figures or more to my business.

Lesson Learned: Look for other “members only” communities to join and become the go-to person in that community for your specialty. It’s a great way to meet serious business people looking for your professional help and you’ll be able to do it without tripping over loads of competitors.

Just follow the forum or community rules to the letter and you’ll do fine.

    Until next time,

    Mike
